House leveling up- August 2019
Well, we got moved in. And then allowed ourselves small perks like sleeping in and taking our foot off the gas (just a little bit). Much of the first part of the month was spent trying to get settled. But the month has looked a little like this:
- Installed closet shelves/rods in: kids closets, linen closet, hall closet, master closet
- Finished grouting kids shower
- Hang doors- yes we moved in with no interior doors installed and it took us about a week to finally get three installed (bathrooms first!)
- Install towel bars, toilet paper holders, mirrors, shower curtain rods, etc
- Install hardwood floors in: dining room, hallway
- Yard work/job site clean up in prep for final dumpster hauling
- Go on our annual vacation to Wisconsin
- Build IKEA dresser for Mr. B
- Lay and grout tile in entry and mudroom
Next month (well the current month) will hopefully bring our patio being poured, the removal of our dumpster, siding the breezeway and installing those windows. In general we will be focusing on projects that will get the house sealed up for winter. I’m hoping we’ll get siding, soffits, fascia and gutters done, but that probably too big of an ask unless we hire it out.
We’ll see you at the end of September! Here’s to dry and warm fall!
