Well, here we are. The end of July. We knew we’d have a flurry of activity in the final month. Here’s what we got done:
- Cabinets & granite counters delivered & installed
- Vanities and marble tops also delivered & installed
- Tile laid/grouted in kids and downstairs bathroom floors
- Tile laid in kids shower too!
- Delivery of stair treads, handrails, newel posts, etc
- Flooring installed: storage room (snap lock), all 4 bedrooms (carpet), laundry room (linoleum), loft (carpet), downstairs hallway (hardwood)
- Plumbing finished: downstairs and kids bath, kitchen, laundry (only master bath left unfinished)
- Fireplace hearth stained and constructed, and granite top installed
- Painted: guest room, master bedroom
- Balcony floor and railing installed
- Driveway and front sidewalk poured
- Installed basement ceiling drywall (and a few walls too)
- Attic insulation (what a difference that made!)
- Finished all electrical install (lighting, outlets, switches, etc)
- Passed final electrical, plumbing, and mechanical inspections from the city
- Moved all our worldly possessions a mile up the road
Now what’s next? Oh about 500 things. But at a much slower pace.

Jim and Amy you have done a fantastic job, your list of things accomplished in July is amazing! We were fortunate to be there for 10 days of progress and know how hard you worked. It reads like the final 30 days of a building contractor’s list, very impressive. I know there are many things that need finishing touches, but getting done in 15 months with all of the obstacles, while working fulltime is an accomplishment. Congratulations!
