House leveling up- June 2019
We’re heading into the final push now. It’s hard to believe everything we’ve accomplished the last several months. But here’s what we did in one of our last months (before we hope to move in):
Need to catch up? Read through the last few months of progress:
January 2019
February 2019
March 2019
April 2019
May 2019
- Framed and laid the floor for the balcony
- Drywall finished
- Main roof finally finished (vents and cap shingles)
- Sheathed the back porch
- Ordered hardwood floors (and hauled all 4300 lbs in from the curb)
- Installed outlets, switches, and most light fixtures
- Painted most of the rooms
- Installed ceiling insulation (but not yet drywall) in basement
- A/C installed!
- Metal roof installed
- Ordered countertops, stair components, and interior doors
- Tiled kitchen and kids bathroom floors
Here’s what we hope to finish in time to move in at the end of July:
- Install few remaining electrical fixtures
- Install plumbing fixtures (kitchen and 2 baths)
- Tiling- remaining floors and kids shower
- Carpets installed
- Drywall basement ceiling
- Build and stain hearth
- Install cabinets
- Countertops templated and installed
- Have the driveway poured
- Finish stair treads and railing (probably the very last thing)
- Oh! and pack up so we can move out of the rental house
Easy peasy, huh? We’ll see, but we’ll have another report for you at the end of July.
We were hoping to get the basement ceiling drywall hung and the balcony finished, but the drywalling took a week less than they had estimated so we pivoted and got to work on installing electrical fixtures, painting and tiling.
