We would love everyone to help us with one tiny thing and you can do it with no construction or DIY experience.

We would like for our friends and family to put a little graffiti on our new house. Yes, you read that correctly. We are ASKING you to write on our future home.

You can write anything you want (PG please) on the walls before they get filled with insulation and covered with drywall. We’re hoping this serves as a way to ‘bless’ our house from those who are following along on this journey with us.

If you’re local, stop by and we’ll hand you a Sharpie and you’re welcome to find a stud or bit of sheathing and express yourself (wishes, funny stories, artwork or doodles). If you’re far-flung and maybe can’t make it to town, send us a note (comment here, send us a text or email) and we’ll get it added. Let us know if you want credit too!

We did this in our first house when we remodeled the kitchen. We only added our names and the date, but I’ve always thought it would be cool to have this done on a larger scale. While we are building a house in the very literal sense, to me it is building a home. A home is so much more than a structure to shield you from the elements and store your belongings. This is a home for our children and friends and family. For everyone to know they are welcome and treasured. And for that feeling to really get into the walls, we’d like a little help.
